Hello, I’m Matt.
Matt Burke grew up in Boston. At nine, he controlled the balls and strikes on the Green Monster scoreboard at Fenway Park. A few years later, he attended the same high school as five signers of the Declaration of Independence. He moved to Washington, DC for college and since then has spent much of his adult life traveling the world and convincing friends he isn’t James Bond.
Matt writes about the places and people that shape us. For companies, he turns research on geopolitical issues—energy trade in South Asia, deforestation in Africa—into more than $150 million of business. As a creative writer, Matt writes about visiting (and re-visiting) interesting spots around the world and how those places change us.
While Matt polishes his debut memoir, he publishes on Atlas Obscura and blogs at www.matthewburke.co.
